Finally! The long project process is complete and the show is over with! It was a crazy long and eventful experience. Lots of sleepless nights. Glad to see everything hung and people viewing my illustrations. I talked to many people and many children about my Misfit Toy illustrations. It was seriously a fun night. Thanks to all my family and friends who supported me through this long process and being with me during the show! Thanks everyone and congrats to all my fellow graphic design classmates. Great job!

Coffin Cruiser Progress/Finalization Photos

(download)
This slideshow is composed of the photos I took with the progress of the wagon, mainly towards the middle of the progress, which I'm disappointed I didn't get photos of cutting wood. Oh well. The photos go through showing the stages of the whole cruiser in it's form of 85% completetion to 100% complete. The wagon is made of birch wood, exhaust is mainly metal tubing scrap then welded together and painted, the red spikes are wood paint brushes with the handles cut off and drilled out to be screwed onto the wheels, custom metal spider webbing on the rear between the wheels, the padding inside is baby blanket padding that I cut and hot glued to the inside with careful measuring, fabric is from JoAnn's Fabric that worked perfectly for my project, left over fabric was used to make the moon shaped pillow with small tassels on each end, and finally the frame of the wagon is a brand new and original Red Flyer Wagon. Wow, that was a LONG sentence! That's the brief run down on the Coffin Cruiser. Just want to say a big thank you to my Uncle Chris and my mother for helping me with this looong build!

5 Poster Illustrations

This slideshow are my FINAL illustrations for my 16x20" posters that will be hanging. The majority of these illustrations have been changed multiple times over the past few weeks. I am pretty happy with how each one turned out and the changes that were made. It's been a very long haul and pain staking hours spent on this project and it's research. P.S. - I'm very happy with the large format Epson Printer in the VCD Building. It makes very nice prints and the paper is high quality photo gloss. I recommend the use of it for your projects in the future. :)

Business Cards Arrived!

003
Finally, after waiting a long time on my cards, they are here! I don't know if they had issues printing them or not. They emailed me saying they had an issue printing them, but a few minutes later I get an email saying the business cards are shipped and sorry for any confusion. Hmm? Not totally sure what that was all about! However, I am happy with how they turned out.

The cards are printed front and back on 100lb. recycled matte paper.

See 'n Say Toy

Seensaytoycapture
Here is the See 'n Say misfit toy. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. Hopefully none of the illustrations are too inappropriate. :) I wanted to place this toy in a bedroom scene - perhaps a child's room? What do you think of this?

Just where I'm at currently.

I wanted to write down where I'm at currently. I'm not stressing as much but I'm still not in the clear - lots of work to do still.

Illustration 1 - 100% DONE

Illustration 2 - 100% DONE

Illustration 3 - 95% DONE

Illustration 4 - Started

Illustration 5 - 0%

Banner - Started

Business Cards - 100% DONE (waiting for them to come in the mail)

Coffin Cruiser Misfit Toy - 98% DONE (laying down fabric inside Coffin this weekend - the fabric is soo awesome!)

Printing - Still need to print everything but I'm waiting on that.

But that's where I am currently. I will feel tons better after my last 2 illustrations are complete. I will then be able to breath. :)

Frames

(download)

Bought my frames today. 5 16x20" frames. 3 lay verticle, 2 lay horizontal on top. Misfit Coffin Cruiser hangs to the right of it. Had to take the 18x24's back because my Coffin Cruiser is wider than planned.

Furby with some environment.

(download)

Anyone mind the small scared looking bird? I kinda like him. I really really want to be done with this furby illustration. Any suggestions welcome but time is limited. :) I'm liking it, though. You? BTW - Colors look WAY off, not sure if it's the .tiff and .jpeg format but the colors look absolutely horrible on here! I added a screenshot (one with red border) to show you guys how big of a difference in color between my file and .jpeg/tiff files.

Furby Again...

Untitled-1
Added more to the right eye of the Furby. I decided the camera WAS too small to even be noticed between the eyes. It is now moved inside the eye with more metal detail around it to give the 'Terminator' look. I really like how well the camera lens and the eye turned out. It was definitely a better direction. Thanks to Nick & Ryan.

Ferocious Furby!

Furbs_01

Misfit Furby illustration that I have been working on. It's nearing it's completion. What I will be adding to it soon are strands of fur in the belly area that is white and also on the black fur. That should add more of a texture to it. The Furby contains some vicious K9 fangs, dangerous talons, hidden camera between the eyes, as well as a pissed off attitude. Suggestions welcome to add to it.
